Christian Science nurses care for individuals in their homes or within care facilities. While practical care is provided, Christian Science nurses are not registered medical nurses and do not fulfill the medical duties expected of Registered Medical Nurses. In the Pacific Northwest, they provide in-home care. The following is a brief list of services they perform:
- Assessment to determine extent of need and to provide immediate care if necessary.
- Consultation with patient, family members, and the Christian Science Practitioner retained for prayerful support.
- Drafting a personalized Care Plan if on-going care is necessary. This plan includes a description of care needed as well as suggested supplies and equipment.
- HEALING: Christian Science nurses expect those in their care to find their freedom and return to normal activities.
